Homeward Bound

Homeward Bound is a journey towards wholeness. A journey of remembering and reconnecting. By guiding Forest Therapy walks, I support people in nurturing relationship and reciprocity with the natural world, themselves and others.

In essence, Forest Therapy is the practice of slowing down, awakening the senses and reconnecting to the intelligence of our bodies. Inspired by the Japanese practice of Shirin Yoku ("Forest Bathing"), it is a science-based framework which supports physical, mental and spiritual health and wellbeing. It also holds space for healing and nourishing experiences to arise.

In our practice, we say that "the Forest is the therapist, the guide opens the doors". I look forward to supporting you by opening these doors of connection, as you embark on your own journey towards wholeness.

About Me

I'm George and I'm a Forest Therapy Guide, based in Belgium, certified by the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy. I'm also a linguist with a passion for peacebuilding, an avid singer, budding wild camper and amateur astronomer.

I never feel more at home than when I am in the wild. In becoming a Forest Therapy Guide, I answered one of my life's callings, nourished by a profound love for nature and a yearning to support others to rekindle their own connection with the more-than-human world.

Robin Wall Kimmerer once asked "I wonder if much that ails our society stems from the fact that we have allowed ourselves to be cut off from that love of, and from, the land. It is medicine for broken land and empty hearts"

I see Forest Therapy as a vehicle for healing that broken relationship, to see ourselves as part of the natural world again, to honour it and love it, so that we make it our life's commitment to ensure its flourishing and protection. I also deeply believe in the healing the more-than-human-world can gift us to mend broken relationships with ourselves and our communities.

I profoundly believe in this work and look forward to guiding you on one of my walks.

See you in the Forest,

“Knowing that you love the earth changes you, activates you to defend and protect and celebrate. But when you feel the earth loves you in return, that feeling transforms the relationship from a one-way street into a sacred bond"

"Especially in these challenging times, treat yourself to reconnecting with nature. Switch off your phone and spend a couple of hours being soothed by the forest under the expert guidance of George. You'll feel much better for it!"
